Earlier this month, Public Computing was exhibiting at the Kiosk Europe 2008 show in Germany. On one hand, it seemed somewhat disappointing that only very few new kiosk technologies were being released.

However this observation was only valid at the surface. There seems to be an entirely new wave of kiosk initiatives that are actually integrating the already available technologies into one solution! In the past, many marketing managers used a kiosk at a tradeshow or in the lobby to show a simple website. Now the corporate brand-managers start to use the power of interactive product information, blue-tooth marketing, RFiD tags and loyalty-card dispensing kiosks. User details and statistics are being collected and made available for data-mining in order to gain insight of the customer’s behavior. With advanced integrated video and flash applications these kiosk solutions are now up to high standard the large corporations require for their customer communications.

This month alone, Public Computing resellers have completed installations for the Daimler-Benz dealerships, the Nike factory stores and at a premium financials group.
